I made this for a friend's birthday today and though I couldn't eat it, everyone said it was amazing. I used a mixed bag of mini reese's cups (white, dark and milk chocolate) and decorated the whole outside with them as well as adding 2 cups to the cake mix. The ganache/frosting was very thin at first so I put it in the fridge to firm up a bit and put the cakes in the freezer to firm up so they would be easy to frost- it worked great the frosting went on perfectly smooth and it was the exact right amount to frost a 2 layer cake.

All i can say is GENIOUS! Perfect, easy, super delicious way to spruce up a chocolate cake. The outcome is super tasty! If you love Reese's... this is heaven. My boyfriend hates cake but i had to bake for him on his birthday of course. So i decided to try this hoping to please his buds, and that i did! He loved and so did his family and friends. I did replace the the chocolate ganache with a Reese's Peanut chips frosting and just covered the top of the cake with chopped up Reese's Peices. Tasted just like a peanut butter cup! Definately a crowd pleaser!
I will warn: kids will be sooo jacked up on chocolate its scary!
