- combine tomatoes italian seasoning and garlic powder in large saucepan over medium heat. bring to a boil. stir in rice and season with sale and pepper. bring to a boil. lower heat to low. cover and cook 8 minutes or until the rice soaked up all the tomato juices. remove from heat and stir in parsley flakes.
Made for Spring PAC 2013 and I didn't read the intructions well. It said cooked rice and I didn't have that done so I toasted up uncooked rice with some minced onion and garlic and then measured out the liquid from the tomatoes and added homemade chicken broth to make up the difference, added the tomatoes and the spices and cooked till done. Delicious. I will make this again and do as written. Thank you for posting and it was a great dish I will make again. I know it will be quicker with leftover cooked rice. Made for Spring PAC 2013.
