These are very, very YUMMY biscuits with a really GREAT TEXTURE-so light and fluffy with a crisp crust. The cheese and chili also make for a really good taste, but for me they were just a little too hot (sent my mouth on fire), so that I cant give them a full 5 stars. I had read the other reviewers' comments so I thought they wouldnt be too hot even though there is quite a lot of chili powder in them, but somehow mine were smoking. Maybe its just the very high quality chili I used (an Italian brand). Next time I will reduce the amount used to 1/2 tbs and then these will be PERFECT! Thanks so much for sharing this winner with us, Nimz. Made and reviewed for Went to the Market Tag Game May 09.

These biscuits are actually pretty mild in flavor. The butter and cheese in the recipe work well together to produce a very flaky biscuit. I used sharp cheddar and ground ancho chili powder. My yield was 7 very large biscuits that were delicious.

You people with your cilil powder & other hot spices, etc ~ You're making me re-evaulate my dislike for hot [or SLIGHTLY hot!] foods! I was very much tempted to cut back on the chili powder used here, but I didn't & I'm glad I didn't! The biscuits were very, very good & the taste was NOT too hot! Thanks for sharing, & I'll enjoy them again, I know!

These are wicked good. I made them without any sugar, it's truly not needed I also didn't butter the tops. The cheese and chili powder combo is classic and still great. Easy and quick to put together this recipe makes flaky delish biscuits. The butter was margarine that I cut in and it worked with no problem. Thanks Nimz for a different and very enjoyable biscuit.

Very good biscuits! I also grated the butter (good tip, Kittencal), but otherwise I followed the directions exactly. I'm sure I'll be making these again. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Fabulous biscuits! the only change I made was i used frozen butter that I grated into the flour mixture instead of cutting it in with a pastry cutter, this makes for a really light biscuit, I also increaed the chili powder slightly (the hotter the better lol!) thanks for sharing this recipe hon!...Kitten:)
