Great for Sunday Brunch. Recipe courtesy of the Brewery Gulch Inn of California. Note: this bacon will not be crisp like thin-cut bacon.
- 12 slice thick-cut apple-smoked bacon
- 59.14 ml brown sugar
- kosher salt, to taste
- 14.79 ml crushed dried red chilies or 14.79 ml red pepper flakes
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Lay bacon on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
- Sprinkle with brown sugar, salt, pepper and crushed red chiles.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Drain and serve.
Delish! Very simple and very tasty. DH thought that it was too sweet, but the rest of us totally enjoyed it. Make sure that you spread the sugar and red pepper flakes evenly over the bacon, otherwise you end up with little 'pockets' of either sweet or spice.
