This was a nice recipe except I couldn't get the V8 image out of my head. The hidden valley did a lot to tone it down but it was still there. I'm a huge V8 drinker, so maybe that's why. I did like the recipe, though. My hubby liked it too. Next time I will use fresh veggies.
WHOA! I never expected this to so wonderful! I used Whole Foods veggie juice, egulr dices tomatoes and instead of frozwn veggies I put fresh thinly sliced carrots, kale, spinach, and red cabbage. I added a can of green beans, too. SO GOOD!!!! I love this soup. A new favorite!!
This soup was great! I used 2 onions,2 bags of veggies and left out the salt and pepper. Thought that I would let everyone s&p themselves. It was real spicy so I think that next time I will use regular diced tomatoes. Oh,and there will be a "next time"! Thanks for posting!!
I loved using the V-8 juice - it made the soup very tasty. I did not have frozen veggies so I used 2 cans of mixed veggies. Will definitely be making this again.
I found this to be a little spicy, but that is a good thing. Garlic powder was substituted for the prepared garlic since I was out of it. I also used a whole 2 pound bag of frozen vegetables. 2-3 cups did not look like enough.
I think that this soup is indeed lovely, though being in Morocco it is a fair distance to where I can buy the frozen veg anyway. I did re-make this soup with the fresh veg and it was delightful!! Hot here so I will put it in my cookbook for fall! Mohamed loved it as well! I used carrots, greenbeans, peas, onions and corn, yummm!
This has a very nice flavor. Though fresh veggies are always better, the recipe name does say "real easy" so this is just fine if you are short on time. Thanks quartzmoon, I will make it again on for a lazy summer lunch.
