I was prepared to be disappointed having tried so many chicken fried steak recipes before but Jessica, you have a winner on your hands! I used garlic powder and seasoned salt, forgot the lemon pepper, but so what these were a hit without it. So tender after only five minutes in the pan too. DD wouldn't leave until I'd printed out the recipe for her. What a great way to remember your ancestors. TFS Posted for ZWT3

Super easy and delicious. Sometimes instead of rolling them in flour I roll them in crushed crackers.

this got 8 stars from my DH tonight! That's a winner for sure. Very nice crispy crust, and tender inside. Seasoning was just right too - I used garlic powder, SeasonAll, and pepper. I cooked them about half the time indicated - about ten minutes total (5 minutes each side) in hot oil to flash fry them crisp. These cube steaks were so "cubed" they almost fell apart, so they cooked through and got very tender quickly. I made cream gravy with some of the oil from the pan while the last two steaks were frying. Thanks for sharing your family's tradition. It reminds me of my own family traditions.
