This recipe has been in our family for years given to us from a famous upstate NY italian resaurant that was posted in our local news paper back in the 60's.It's great on all typs of fresh greens of your choice. and very easy to make.
- 1 cup grated romano cheese, cheese. (I use Kraft brand)
- 1⁄2 cup salad oil
- 1⁄2 cup red wine vinegar
- salt & pepper
- 1⁄4 teaspoon oregano
- In a small bowl mix all of the above until mixture is a creamy like consistancy. Pour over your salad or can be refriderated for later use. just Bring back to room temp before serving.
I made this with the Little Italy Panini last evening and was very disappointed. I don't know if it was the red wine vinegar or the romano cheese, but it was too overbearing. I will not try this again. Sorry!
Wonderful dressing. I did increase the oregano and used it with this recipe Linguini Salad (Pasta Salad). :)
Molto buono!!! I really like this simple dressing!! It has a great flavor using red wine vinegar!! I used grapeseed oil and dried oregano because they didn't have any fresh at my store today. Will definitely make again, thanks for posting!!
