Recipe by Alan in SW Florida
Although I live in Florida now, this is still a favorite on a chilly night. After shoveling snow on those cold New England winter days, this is the way Mama made it and had waiting for my brothers and me. We would line up our boots outside the door and run to the kitchen table in our stocking feet. Sometimes, instead of whipped cream, we would put a spoonful of "Marshmallow Fluff" on top. Oh, those were the days!!!

I thought this was pretty good, if a bit on the sweet side, but DS didn't like it--and he's the one I was making it for, not me. I used semisweet chocolate chips instead of chopped chocolate. It didn't want to emulsify as it was heating, but a bit of beating with a whisk took care of that. Thanks anyway, Alan--maybe DS will appreciate cinnamony hot chocolate more when he's a little older! Made for Comfort Cafe January 2009.
