I thought this was pretty good, if a bit on the sweet side, but DS didn't like it--and he's the one I was making it for, not me. I used semisweet chocolate chips instead of chopped chocolate. It didn't want to emulsify as it was heating, but a bit of beating with a whisk took care of that. Thanks anyway, Alan--maybe DS will appreciate cinnamony hot chocolate more when he's a little older! This was excellent hot chocolate. I'd never thought of using brown sugar in it, and was pleasantly surprised by the taste. The semisweet chocolate did take a little while to melt, but once I got them all melted, this was a very smooth, rich hot chocolate. Thanks for posting this great recipe! Made for Comfort Cafe.
