  1. Remove 1/3 cup of bourbon from the bottle.
  2. In its place, put a cup of crushed and twisted fresh mint leaves.
  3. Let this steep for 3-5 months.
  4. To serve, put a bit of sugar - to taste - in a cup with lots of shaved ice and pour the bourbon over it.
  5. Can garnish with a sprig of fresh mint.
  6. Most authentic when served in a silver cup with a glass straw.
