  • Cream together shortening, sugars, egg and vanilla.
  • Stir in remaining ingredients.
  • Drop onto cookie sheet, bake at 375 for 10 minutes.

  1. We loved these cookies. They are addictive. I wanted to use coconut but I didn't have any :( Maybe they would be great with half the amount of sugar cause they are a bit sweet. The problem of these cookies is that they were hard to manipule to put on the baking pan. It was hard to give them their shape cause they were crumbly. I added a little bit of oil at the end to help me. Thanks jswinks :) Made for I recommend tag game

  3. This is a good basic cookie. I made some plain, some with cranberries and some with chocolate chips, and I used whole wheat pastry flour. I only had old fashioned oat which made them a little more crumbly then they would have been with quick oats.
