  • Cream shortening.
  • Add sugar and eggs.
  • Sift flour, salt, soda and baking powder together.
  • Combine ingredients.
  • Drop by spoonfuls on greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) until done.

  1. Thanks to Christmas Spelling Bee I chose to make this recipe for the letter R. I found these cookies so easy to make . For a time I found 10 to 13 minutes to be good. Everybody liked how good they came out. Will be making again.
     
  2. These are really good and I have made them numerous times now. I measure the flakes and then crush them. I have used corn flakes and wheat flakes with equal success! I always line my sheets with parchment. Bec, thank you for posting your recipe! And many thanks to Mrs. Edgar Peterson!
     
  3. Oh, boy, these are delicious! Great for filling the cookie jar. Lots of crunchy stuff in a cookie that's bendably soft but crunchy on the outside. Awesome! with some vanilla ice cream on the side. I made a couple of subs, using butter for shortening and equal parts white whole wheat and all-purpose flour. Used Total flakes. So yummy! Thanks for the recipe!!
