I had this at a wonderful Indian Restaurant near our house. We loved it so much we ordered 2 orders of it. The owner gave me a copy of the recipe after I promised we would still eat at the restaurant. Terrific with steamed Basmati rice and lime pickle.

Ingredients Nutrition


  1. Heat oil in skillet and add onion and garlic.
  2. Cook until transparent about 5 minutes.
  3. Add chopped chili.
  4. Stir in cumin, coriander, tumeric, salt and garam marsala.
  5. Cook for about 2 minutes.
  6. Add ginger paste and tomato paste.
  7. Add the kidney beans and lentils and spinach.
  8. Cook for 2 minutes.
  9. Pour in 3/4 cup water.
  10. Cover pan and cover for 5 minutes over low heat,.
