I have been making this sauce for years. You won't find a better recipe
- 118.29 ml firmly packed dark brown sugar
- 14.79 ml cornstarch
- 1.23 ml cinnamon
- 59.14 ml raisins
- 14.79 ml butter
- 236.59 ml water
- 29.58 ml lemon juice
- In small saucepan combine sugar, corn starch and cinnamon. Add remaining ingredients and stir to combine. Heat until mixture boils and thickens stirring occasionally. Simmer about 10 minutes until flavors have blended.
Yummy sauce! I made this as directed except that I had to substitute currants at the last minute when I discovered that I was out of raisins. Guess the grand kids beat me to them, lol. Very simple and tasty over ham. Thanks frozenmargarita for a nice keeper. Made for Bargain Basement Tag.
