  1. Beat egg in large mixing bowl.
  2. Add oik, yogurt, brown sugar, applesauce, vanilla and lemon rind.
  3. Mix well.
  4. In anot her bowl, combine raisins, flour, bran, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg.
  5. Add to wet ingredients and mix until combined.
  6. Pour into lightly-greased 8-inch-square baking pan and top with sliced almonds.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean.
