This is one of the best sloppy joes I made. DH really liked this one. :) We had it with monterey jack cheese, mustard, relish, hot peppers in a jar. Really good. Thanks newspapergal :) Made for I Recommend tag game

Well this is my now go to Sloppy Joe recipe. SO much better then from a package. The last few "from scratch" sloppy Joe Recipes I tried were way too sweet. This was just perfect. I made no adjustments beyond using green instead of red peppers.

This is a good sloppy joe recipe. My kids love sloppy joes and I've made alot of different recipes and this one rates right up there with the best. I made this in the camper on vacation and they were very easy to put together, which is a plus in my books. Thank you for posting.

I love this recipe with a few changes...I had used this before out of the Rachel Ray coookbook and I made the following changes: Left out bell pepper, used the whole can of tomato paste, 1 can of tomato sauce and 1 cup of water, use 3 T vinegar, onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder, salt, pepper, smokey paprika, and cumin to taste. And finally I used about 2 1/2 lbs of ground beef. Makes wonderful leftovers!!

This is now my favorite sloppy joe recipe. It is not runny and has a nice chunky texture..(I chopped the red pepper and onion in a medium dice). Sloppy joes should be slightly sweet in my opinion & this fills the bill. I put some grated cheddar on top and place under the broiler for a bit. I used Famous Daves Steak & Fajita seasoning. Terrific!!!

Mmm-mmm, very good! Spicier than other sloppy joe recipes I've tried--I did add about 3 tsp. of the Montreal Steak Seasoning. I will definitely make these again. Thanks!

I like my sloppy joes to be alittle sweeter so I added quite a bit of BBQ sauce.

I have this in a 30 minute meal cookbook from RR and it replaced the way I used to make sloppy joes. Super tasty and a big hit with my family!

These were pretty good, although not enough to warrant fives stars (at least for our family). I don't ever remember my mom's (or any other recipe) sloppy joes being sweet. I thought the this recipe was a bit different with the brown sugar and wanted to try it. We thought they were TOO sweet and I even used about a 1.30 lbs. of ground beef instead of the 1 lb. so it would have been even sweeter. I had a jar of the McCormick steak seasoning, although it wasn't Montreal. I had never even opened it (don't remember why I bought it!). I didn't really have a clue as to what the ingredients were in it either...didn't know there was hot peper in it! We like hot pepper in certain things, but not in sloppy joes! It was *okay*, but I probably wouldn't add it next time. I think with a little tweaking, I might make these again.

I am going to give this four stars because I think it is very good, but not outstanding. I would make it again. I did add extra brown sugar and winged the spices since I didn't have a steak mix. I don't think you need the olive oil unless you have incredibly lean meat. I am NOT a big sloppy joe person at all, but I did like this in small amounts. My hubster loved it, so it must be good.

These were good. They were a little plain or bland at first.. so I pulled out a different crock pot sloppy joe recipe I had and added dry mustard, garlic powder, chili powder and some other stuff.. after spicing them up they were every good!

This recipe was really good! Very quick and had great flavor! We toasted hamburger rolls and served open face sandwiches...next time might try adding some cheese! But these were very good!

I have been making this version of Rachael Ray's sloppy joes for about a year, so I thought I'd add my review. This is my family's absolute favorite and I won't be making it any other way again! We loveeeeeeeee the flavor and the consistency is perfect. I have used Splenda brown sugar before and it still turned out great. The only other substitution I make is: I swap out the red pepper and replace it with chopped celery - just my family's preference. We LOVE this recipe! Thanks for posting. :-)
