I doubled this recipe as I had a regular cake mix, and it turned out good, I used honey crisp apples...

Wonderful! I made it just as the recipe states and it"s warm and comforting. Great without the ice cream!

This was a FANTASTIC little recipe. I made it just to have a light dessert after our meal since it has been so bitter cold. It turned out to be a HUGE hit! I followed directions exacly, but used a granny smith apple as that was all I had on hand. My husband ate 3/4 of it himself! I was told to make a bigger one next time, so Duncan Hines here I come! LOL!! It is a great light dessert with a dollop of sweetened whipped cream on top oi it, easy and quick too!

this was so easy to make...and incredibly delicious. I also substituted the cake mix (but with duncan hines) because I had it and was too lazy to run to the store- since I had everything else. The cake is so moist and the apples on top really make it different. I definitely plan to make this again for a future family visit.

Really, really good! Would you believe the grocery store didn't have the Jiffy cake mixes? I bought a Pillsbury one and just measured out 9 oz of mix and then used one egg and the 1/2 cup of water per your instructions. I ended up having to bake it for twice as long as you indicated, but that was probably due to the different cake mix. It turned out moist, yummy and was soooo good warm. We really liked how quick it was to make and how it doesn't make too much at one time. This is definitely a keeper. Thanks!
