Kari, This was a delicious meal for both my husband and I,We actually enjoy a hamburger helper dinner once in a while,(when we feel a little lazy),but this is actually a real comfort food, and is as easy as hamburger helper. Thanks Kari for a great recipe. Darlene
Well, I asked for good, quick, kid friendly dishes, and I got one. This was enjoyed by myself and all of my kids, which makes it a 5 star in my book, for I have some picky eaters. It was easy to make, and tasted great! I added the liquid that the recipe said, but I let it sit in the skillet for a few minutes after it cooked, and it thickened up just fine for me. This has been added to my "I will make frequently file". :)Thanks, Kari, for recommending this!
Definitely good for those of us on a budget and quite tasty. I would recommend slightly less liquid so sauce can thicken more (depends on preference though).
This was VERY yummy! I had to change it a bit for what was in the cupboard. I used cream of mushroom soup and since I wanted it thicker I followed a reviewer's suggestion and used 2 cans and omitted the water. I had no green onions so I used half a small regular onion. I also reduced the milk to 1 cup. I doubled the pepper, onion (I used flakes not powder) and garlic. I didn't have any parmesan cheese so I used 3 tbsp of plain cream cheese and it was nice and creamy and yummy. Hubby, I and our 2 year old daughter all loved it!
Keri thanks for sharing a good recipe. I made it just as written, and it makes a LOT! I did freeze 2 containers for later. Hubby and I found it quite bland. Added a sprinkle of COOKIES spice once it was on our plates. Next time, I will add another can of mushroom soup and leave out the 1/2 cup of water so it will be a bit thicker.
I was able to get my husband to eat it. I loved how fast and easy it was. I will be adding it to my keepers.
I'm giving this a 3 because I thought it was a 1, my husband wouldn't eat it and the three kids at the table thought it was a 5. I have concluded that it is a probsably a great kid's meal.
I used cream of mushroom soup instead of potato, doubled the amount of Worcestershire sauce, cut the milk to 1 cup and omitted the corn and peas (didn't have any on hand). Overall, it was a quick and delicious meal that I will make again. It's a recipe that allows for a lot of variation. Thanks Just Married :-)
This was very good!!! I added in green beans since my husband hates peas and I added an extra table spoon of worchestershire sauce for extra flavor. We have had this recipe several times and it makes great leftovers for lunch the next day.
