Reviews

  1. Simple, fast recipe that delivers a delicious meal in no time. I made this last night and my boyfriend loved it. Like another reviewed, I also seasoned my meat with cumin while browning it in the pan. I added minced green and red peppers and onions for extra flavour and was generous with the garlic. It's an easy way to sneak in more veggies. I omitted the sour cream as I didn't have much on hand and didn't grease the pan. Turned out great and I'll be making this one again soon

  2. This recipe came delicious and was so easy and affordable. Made it with ground Turkey and added green chilis to meat and stewed tomatoes. Added Monterey Jack cheese on top and baked. Had spinach on the side but next time will add in to the casserole.

  3. Made this last night using 95% lean ground beef, light sour cream, and 2% cheese for a lower calorie and lower fat version. It was excellent. Thanks so much for the recipe. A new no guilty comfort food for our household.

  4. This was very tasty! I put a little cumin in the ground turkey to give a little more flavor and used stewed tomatoes to keep it a little lighter.

  5. I used sour cream and non fat greek yogurt because I didn't have enough sour cream. I also used a mix of tomato and basil jack, cheddar, mexican blend and Italian blend cheeses because I had them all! Lol. I also used gemelli pasta. Everything else in the recipe was the same. It was delicious!!

Tweaks

  1. Use cream of mushroom instead of sour cream. Add zucchini and onions

  2. If you are on a low-carb diet, replace the pasta with lightly boiled chopped cauliflower.

  3. Instead of tomato sauce and sour cream use sundried tomato Alfredo sauce.

  4. Added chopped green pepper and a tsp. of cumin!

  5. Use mix of Colby Jack and Cheddar cheese. Add red pepper flakes to the ground meat mixture after cooking. Sprinkle top of casserole with smoked paprika. Optional additions. Shallots, green onions and chopped red peppers.
