When you don't have time to simmer a pot of fresh green beans for a few hours.

  1. Place green beans in a small saucepan. Add country ham or bacon.
  2. Warm over low heat, about 15 minutes. (The beans will be warm before then but the extra time allows them to absorb the flavor of the ham.).

I use bacon and I add onions. I so love green beans.

Good and very easy to make. Nice change of pace. I used hormel bacon bits. I followed the recipe exactly as written.

I make green beans really similar to this, so I'll throw my rating your way instead of posting my own recipe. The only change I make is to add a lot more ham (about 4 oz) and I throw two beef bouillon cubes in with them (for 2 cans - probably 1 cube for 1 can). They're so good - definitely my favorite way to eat green beans.
