When you don't have time to simmer a pot of fresh green beans for a few hours.
- 1 (15 ounce) can green beans, cut or 1 (15 ounce) can French style green beans
- 1 tablespoon chopped country ham or 1 tablespoon chopped bacon
- Place green beans in a small saucepan. Add country ham or bacon.
- Warm over low heat, about 15 minutes. (The beans will be warm before then but the extra time allows them to absorb the flavor of the ham.).
I use bacon and I add onions. I so love green beans.
Good and very easy to make. Nice change of pace. I used hormel bacon bits. I followed the recipe exactly as written.
I make green beans really similar to this, so I'll throw my rating your way instead of posting my own recipe. The only change I make is to add a lot more ham (about 4 oz) and I throw two beef bouillon cubes in with them (for 2 cans - probably 1 cube for 1 can). They're so good - definitely my favorite way to eat green beans.
