directions

  • Place green beans in a small saucepan. Add country ham or bacon.
  • Warm over low heat, about 15 minutes. (The beans will be warm before then but the extra time allows them to absorb the flavor of the ham.).

  1. Quick, simple, and good. Thanks for sharing.

  2. I use bacon and I add onions. I so love green beans.

  3. Good and very easy to make. Nice change of pace. I used hormel bacon bits. I followed the recipe exactly as written.

  4. I make green beans really similar to this, so I'll throw my rating your way instead of posting my own recipe. The only change I make is to add a lot more ham (about 4 oz) and I throw two beef bouillon cubes in with them (for 2 cans - probably 1 cube for 1 can). They're so good - definitely my favorite way to eat green beans.

  5. I make these often as it is how my mom made green beans when I was growing up :) I sometimes add a sprinkling of beef bouillon for extra flavor, and of course, plenty of freshly ground black pepper. An easy and delicious side to 'most any meal!

With the changes to the email notifications and removal of private messaging, I am no longer able to respond to questions about my recipes. Yet another feature change that has made the website less user friendly. It's sad to watch a fantastic site deteriorate over the years. Some of my recipes are on my blog.
