Quick and Easy Apple Dumplings

"I received this recipe from my MIL. I love it because it is very quick and easy to make and when it is just the 2 of us, I can cut the recipe in half and use the other 4 crescent rolls for our rolls for the meal."

  1. These were quick & easy to make! However, they were a little too sweet for our tastes - I'll probably eliminate the sugar next time. I scaled the recipe in half & I'm using the rest of the crescent rolls for recipe #73011, Ham & Cheddar Crescents. Thanx Jellyqueen!

  2. We loved this recipe. I even cooked plain apples in the sauce and they tasted great. It was very easy to make. Thanks for a nice recipe.

  3. Almost exactly like a recipe my grandma makes execpt she uses 1 cup instead of 1/2 cup of sugar. So So good!

  4. Most excellent! We ate dinner while it cooked. The children helped me prepare it before dinner (and wanted to!). Thank you!

  5. I cut the sugar to 1/4 cup and the butter to 2 Tbsp & used reduced-fat crescent rolls, and these were really tasty! I also added a dash of nutmeg in with the cinnamon. Mine baked in 36 minutes; I pulled them out twice during baking to spoon some juice over. I rolled the crescents like normal 'crescent-style' over my Gala apples, and then folded the sides in so that the entire apple slice was covered in pastry. These would be great for a last-minute dessert or unexpected guests (I just had an apple-pie kind of craving, lol). Thanks :)
