This recipe is a favorite of my granmother's. It's an easy yet delicious dessert. Many people do not like coconut, so I leave it off.
- 1 store bought angel food cake
- 1 (15 ounce) can cherry pie filling
- 1 (15 ounce) can crushed pineapple
- 4 bananas
- 1 (6 ounce) box instant vanilla pudding
- 1 (16 ounce) container whipped topping
- coconut (to garnish) (optional)
- In large glass bowl (or punch bowl) tear angel food cake in to bite size pieces.
- Spread cherry pie filling on top of cake.
- Spread pineapple on pie filling.
- Slice bananas and put on top of pineapple.
- Mix pudding according to package instructions and pour on top of bananas.
- Top with whipped topping and garnish with coconut, if desired.
- Chill in fridge over night.
This is so delicious! It's a refreshing change from a lot of desserts out there with all the fruit. My mother in law has made this for me before, and I love it. I'm making it tomorrow for a bridal shower and I'm sure it will be a big hit!
