  1. Slice the pumpkin in half and remove the stringy fibers and seeds.
  2. Peel and cut the pumpkin into chunks about 1x2 inches.
  3. Boil in salted water until tender, about 12-15 minutes.
  4. Finely grind the walnuts with the sugar.
  5. Place the pumpkin pieces in a bowl and mash to break them up slightly, but still chunky Stir in walnut-sugar mixture.
  6. Serve hot or cold.
