This is from a co-worker years ago. It is a hearty cookie, and this recipe makes lots. This was a potluck favorite. It's written on a piece of paper, folded, faded, splattered and almost illegible.

  1. Soak nuts and raisins in wine for a few minutes.
  2. Cream shortening and sugars together.
  3. Stir in eggs and vanilla and wine mixture.
  4. Add pumpkin (will curdle).
  5. Sift together and add flour, baking powder, salt and spices.
  6. Dough will be stiff.
  7. Drop by teaspoon onto lightly greased cookie sheet.
  8. Bake at 350°F for about 15 minutes.
  9. In a separate bowl, mix water, powdered sugar and wine.
  10. When cool, frost with glaze.
