A Thanksgiving Smoothie, good all year round.
- 1 3⁄4 cups pumpkin, canned,chilled
- 12 ounces evaporated skim milk, chilled
- 1 1⁄2 cups orange juice
- 1⁄2 cup banana, sliced
- 1⁄3 cup brown sugar, packed
- Place all ingredients in blender and blend well.
- If desired, serve over ice and sprinkle with cinnamon.
I just made this for breakfast and it is definitely staying in my cookbook. I tried it as the recipe is written first and it is really good but I like a little more spice so I added a little nutmeg and clove. It turned out perfect. Thank you for spicing up my mornings!
What a unique and tasty drink. It's perfect for a fall treat. The orange juice and bananas gave it a lighter, more refreshing taste than I expected. I think I will experiment with vanilla yogurt in place of the milk next time.
I changed a couple of the amounts ~ 1 cup of OJ instead of 1 1/2 cups & just a packed tablespoon of the brown sugar, while leaving everything else as given!
