  1. Melt butter, add golden syrup, sugar and mixed fruit.
  2. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Remove from heat, add beaten eggs and mashed pumpkin.
  4. When cool, add flours, spices and salt.
  5. Place in a greased square cake tin and bake in moderate oven for 90 minutes.
