Mmmm, I've had these on my 'to make' list for way too long, and now that I've finally made them I'm kicking myself for not having done it before. They are dense and moist (I had no trouble with crumbling) and with a texture that reminded me of semolina. One bite I thought of them as sweet while the next bite I thought of them as savory; they would work equally well for breakfast or with a hearty soup for a simple dinner. I was out of ww flour so used white with no problems (and they did turn out much more of a pumpkin orange color than perhaps other reviewers found). They were great plain, with butter, or with honey or cinnamon sugar (my favorite). The kids went through the batch hand over fist and asked for more, lol. I think next time I might try using buttermilk as I love cornbread made with buttermilk; they seem to compliment each other well.

These were really nice. I'd expected them to be a bit heavy, with ww flour and pumpkin, but they were moist and tender - not the least bit dense. Nice balance of sweet and savory. Thanks for sharing!

These smell great and are a heavier textured muffin. The color is a little darker than I was expecting. I thought they would be a orangey/ yellow with the pumpkin & cornmeal. I ended up with 18 muffins after filling the tins 2/3's full. Thanks for sharing your recipe.

Definitely not a wimpy muffin, these had a good flavor. I was pleased to find a quick bread that I could make as-is without having to figure out how much whole wheat flour I can sub for the white, as this is already wholegrain. A bit crumbly, but I liked them nonetheless. Thank you.

mmmmmmm these are no wimpy "chick breakfast" muffins (according to DH). These are a hearty dense muffin that make a great breakfast. We used 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice instead of cinnamon and cloves. Great flavor, and the aroma is fabulous....
