Pumpkin Cookies With Drizzled Glaze

I found this recipe on the web years ago and don't remember the website. This is a great small cookie with glaze drizzled on instead of a traditional icing. This is my favorite cookie recipe and thank goodness my DH likes Chocolate Chip better. I make sure if I am making a batch of these I make a batch of Chocolate Chip for my DH so I can have the pumpkin cookies all to myself.

Yum! Loved these! Cakey, lovely blend of spices, and can't go wrong with an icing drizzle. The kids loved them. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Combine the first 7 (dry) ingredients in a bowl and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl cream softened butter and white sugar.
  4. Add pumpkin, egg and 1 tsp vanilla to butter mixture.
  5. Beat until creamy.
  6. Add dry ingredients and mix throughly.
  7. Drop dough (approx tablespoon) onto a cool cookie sheet.
  8. Flatten the dough slightly and bake for 12 minutes.
  9. Cool on rack.
  10. Make the glaze by combining confectioner's sugar, milk, melted butter and 1 tsp vanilla extract.
  11. Glaze should be slightly runny.
  12. Add a little more milk if necessary.
  13. Drizzle glaze on cooled cookies.
