"A friend of mine made these for me and I loved them! Now I give them out and they always get a rave review! These cookies are super easy to make, and this recipe makes ALOT of cookies so you have plenty for your neighbors :)"

ingredients

• 236.59 ml shortening
• 709.77 ml sugar
• 3 eggs
• 473.18 ml pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
• 236.59 ml nuts (optional)
• 340.19 g package milk chocolate chips (I use half this amount)
• 1064.65 ml flour
• 9.85 ml baking powder
• 9.85 ml salt
• 9.85 ml baking soda
• 9.85 ml vanilla
• 9.85 ml cinnamon
• 9.85 ml nutmeg

1. Mix all ingredients together and bake at 375 degrees for 13-14 minutes.

I ended up throwing out these cookies. There was too much baking powder and baking soda in the dough, and you could taste it big time in the finished cookies. Also we didn't like the pumpkin and chocolate chips together.

My gal pal Kelly brought these to a Cookie Swap I hosted one year. I LOVED them, and thank GOD we had already set the rule that ALL recipes MUST be shared as these are an old hit. If you are not a fan of pumpkin, don't make them because the warm nutty pumpkin taste does come through very nicely, and as I see it, is a perfect compliment to the sweetness of the milk chocolate chips

We didn't care for these at all. The kids wouldn't even eat them. The pumpkin and the chocolate just didn't seem to go well together. Sorry, won't be making again!
