Another recipe from the 1980 version of the Grace Evangelical Congregational Church cookbook from Muir, Pennsylvania that was given to me by my Nana when I became an adult. This recipe was submitted to the cookbook by April Schaeffer.

This is a good basic pumpkin bread recipe. I feel that it could be enhanced by adding more spice. I couldn't resist adding about 1 cup chopped pecans to the batter because I love them. Mine baked in 45 minutes. Don't forget to grease your baking pans as the directions don't tell you so! Made for Recipe Swap#14.

  1. Mix together the pumpkin, oil, eggs, sugar and salt and beat well.
  2. Add remaining ingredients.
  3. Place in two 9-inch loaf pans.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes.
