This is a recipe of my Grandmothers. I made it for the first time yesterday and it is delicious.

Very moist, and spicy, I added chopped dates and walnuts. I used a teaspoon of salt instead of a teasp. and a half. I thought 3 cups of sugar was quite a bit, but I put it in anyway. Because I was looking for a "Sugar Rush" ! I took one loaf to work and they gobbled it up.

  1. Combine all dry ingredients and mix. Then mix all the wet ingredients. Combine the two. Pour into 2 greased and floured loaf pans. Bake at 350 for 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean.
