This is from a cookbook called The Back of the Box Gourmet.
- 1 cup tomato juice
- 3⁄4 cup quick-cooking oats or 3⁄4 cup old fashioned oats, uncooked
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1⁄4 cup chopped onion
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 1⁄2 lbs lean ground beef
- Heat oven to 350.
- Combine all ingredients except ground beef, mix well.
- Add ground beef, mix lightly but thoroughly.
- Put into 8x4 inch loaf pan, and bake 1 hour.
