Freakin' fantastic! That's what my kids said...This recipe is a winner: it's sweet, crunchy, salty (I added a healthy 'dash' as we all love salted caramel here!) and just great. Served on plain ol' vanilla.
Very nicetopping. Used it on some vanilla ice cream for the 4 of us. Definately will use this on other flavors too. Made for your win in Football Pool.
We really ohhh-ed and ahhhh-ed over this....decadent is a great descriptive for the sauce. I had a little trouble, but I'm sure it was 'operator error'. ;-) When adding the milk, I had a devil of a time mixing everything together into a cohesive sauce. I put the saute pan back on the cooktop, on low, and stirred until it all combined. The flavor was out of this world. And praline is right; when drizzling this over cold ice cream, some of it hardens into an almost crunchy praline. :) Thanks for sharing, Bayhill! I can't wait to share with my friends...I know they'll be impressed.
This is my go-to caramel sauce recipe. I always leave out the nuts. It is so delicious.
This topping was wonderful served over our pumpkin ice cream for Thanksgiving dessert! I can think of so many uses for this simple yet elegant topping!
I would say that I sat and at a bowl full of ice cream with this great sauce but I would be lying as I got 3 bites before my son came in and helped himself to the remainder of the bowl that I had fixed. The girls had already fixed thier bowls with the remaining sauce and were kind enough to share another bite with me. This was easy to prepare and I loved the texture on the ice cream. We used it on a variety of ice creams including vanilla, butter pecan and milk chocolate and I will have to say that it was good on all of them. Thanks Bayhill. I might be making some of this up and giving it as gifts for Christmas.
This was a great topping over vanilla ice cream. Heck I could have sit and eaten it by itself. Didn't change a thing, made as directed, well I probably did add extra pecans. Was super easy to prepare. Congrats on you Football pool win!!
