A good basic potato recipe, I liked how creamy they were, though for me the juniper didn't come through that strongly. Because of how hot it was today, I changed up the cooking method, cooking the peeled and sliced potatoes till tender firm in the microwave (I added extra juniper and salt to the water), then putting them together with everything in a covered cake pan and cooking them the rest of the way in my barbeque while grilling a pork. I used the upper rack on the no flame side and they cooked perfectly. Made for ZWT 9 by another one of the Appliance Killers.

Great potatoes. I love the flavor of juniper berries and got to try my cute new little spice grinder for this dish. Really nice and creamy. Thanks Bethie for sharing. Made for ZWT9.

This is a very nice dish we had them for lunch with Old Recipe for Danish Stew (Stuvet Oksekød) and they went well together. the juniper berries were an unusual taste for us, I have not used them in a dish like this before but it was very good, and I would make them again. I liked the method of rolling them in the cream mixture and then pouring the cream that was left all over the dish that was a good way to make sure that they all got covered in sauce. Thank you for posting Made for ZWT#6 2010

My sister I made these this weekend and our husband's both really enjoyed them. We were even able to find the juniper berries at a speciality shop. Made for ZWT6.

This was absolutely delicious! I had received some juniper berries in a swap and didn't know what to do with them as I'd never used them before. This is what I will be doing with them! Used a mandoline to cut the potato slices very thin. DH wasn't crazy about them, so I'll make a much smaller portion in the future. Thanks for posting! Made for AUS/NZ Recipe Tag #33.

My DH was picking at it while resting!!! He enjoyed the crisp top! I enjoyed the juniper flavor. I cut back on the heavy cream to 3/4 cup using light cream and a 1/4 stick of butter. Red potatoes is what I had so I had firmer texture. I would have enjoyed the russets much better so do use them. Thanks for the comfort! Now all I need is a good Gin and Tonis!

We had grilled venison burgers for supper, so I made up this recipe, and placed in foil packets, and cooked first turning all the while on the bbq. I did use a lot less butter than called for, also used half and half cream.. but when we opened the little packages they were bubbling, golden browned, and smelled awesome. They tasted great along side of our burgers, and salad.
