This recipe is as old and basic as you can get. Add onions, bacon, parsley, etc. to the dough as you like. Comfort food - my grandmother made these often
These were wonderful. What a delicous way to use up leftover mashed potatos. They turned out nice and light. Not doughy at all. I cut these into inch wide and 2 inch long pieces. Came out a little big (I forgot I put baking powder in them), so next time I'll make them a little smaller. I did add some shredded onion to the dough. Then after boiling them, I sauted them in butter and carmelized onions. I served them with Patti H's Red Cabbage Red Cabbage (Rot Kohl) and bratwurst. It made a really...really delicious German meal. Thanks KeyWee, for an easy recipe. One that I'll definatly use again.

I finally got around to trying your recipe and I'm really glad I did....they were so good. Can't wait to slice them and fry them in butter tomorrow. I just made them in balls and put a chunk of ham in the center of each one so had to boil them a bit longer but they sure popped to the surface quickly.
Thanks so much....I'll be making this recipe lots of times.

Very nice recipe. The whole family enjoyed them. Served them with steak and brown gravy. My niece ate them with just melted butter. Says she can't wait to have them again! Thanks for a winner KeyWee.
