  • Dont bother to peel the potatoes, just slice into 1/4 inch slices. mix the potatoes, onions and garlic cloves together and place in the middle of a large piece of foil. Dot with the butter and season well. Wrap up the foil securely and either place in a 300 degree oven for 1 1/2 hours or cook on a b'cue grill ( low heat).

  1. Great recipe! next time I'll try with rosemary--it should be heavenly.

  2. I make these all the time in a skillet with olive oil, but never made them in the pockets. Great idea! I just sprayed the tinfoil with PAM to save on calories and it worked great! We will make them this way from now on!

  3. What a wonderful way to prepare potatoes. I also put the sliced taters in water before assembling. The only complaint I have is I didn't season them enough. Next time (which will be this weekend), I'll make sure I correct that. Thanks for posting a delicious recipe!

  4. Great way to do the potatoes. I doubled the recipe and added some steak seasoning and garlic powder instead of the garlic cloves(didn't have any on hand). We ate all of it and there were only 4 of us. I was hoping to use what was leftover to make potato soup, no such luck. Thank you for a great recipe!! I will be making it again SOOONNN!

  5. We LOVE making this in the summer on the BBQ!!! We usually add carrots and sometimes red, green and yellow peppers too!!!
