Pork Rub Ala Swinney

"This is a dry pork rub me and a friend worked up to use when smoking our pork butts. I think you will find it gives the meat a nice crusty appearance and home town taste."

• Ingredients: 9
• Yields: 2 3/4 Cups

ingredients

• 1⁄2 cup ground black pepper
• 1⁄2 cup seasoning salt
• 1 1⁄4 cups raw sugar
• 1⁄4 cup brown sugar
• 1⁄8 cup savory
• 1⁄8 cup Thai basil
• 1 tablespoon salt
• 1 tablespoon dry mustard
• 3⁄4 tablespoon chili powder

directions

1. Mix all dry ingredients. Rub on the outside of pork butt before smoking.
2. Multiply this recipe by four if you are smoking a half of hog.
