We really enjoyed this dish. i made a couple modifications. I used apples and pears and left out the vanilla (it might be good, I just didn't want it). Also, I seared the pork chops(but didn't cook them right thru) took them out of the pan and cooked the sauce. Then I put the porkchops back in the pan, covered it and put it all in the oven for 15min @400. They came out tender and juicy and the sauce was bubbly and thick. Thanks!

I picked this recipe because I had all of the ingredients on hand and WOW am I glad I did! I LOVE the rub and plan to use it a lot on chicken as well as pork. The pear sauce was a big hit too, with and without the chop! It was super easy and incredible tasting. Worth a try!

This was very good, but because of the flavor of the cinnamon/nutmeg mixture, the delicate flavor of the pears seemed to be over-taken. I have never tried this dish before, and it was very well liked. I was just wondering why this is not made with apples, or if there are any recipes made with pears that featuring other ingredients that complement the more delicate flavor of the pears.

This was fantastic, love the rub also. I did sear, then bake for 20 minutes in the oven. I had just canned my pear sauce with cinnamon, vanilla & ginger, so this was the perfect recipe to accompany that. Husband loved it, also. Did I mention the rub is wonderful? :)
