  • 1360.77 g thick pork chops
  • 1 onion, cut into thin slices
  • 1 lemon, cut in thin slices
  • 118.29 ml firmly packed brown sugar
  • 118.29 ml ketchup

directions

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Season pork chops with salt and place in large baking dish.
  • Top each pork chop with an onion slice and a lemon slice.
  • Mix brown sugar and ketchup; spoon a couple of tablespoons over each chop.
  • Cover and bake 1 hour.
  • Uncover and bake 30 minutes longer, basting occasionally.

  1. my family also love pork chops.i used the fore-quarter(larger)kind as i find these don't tend to dry out.this recipe is a great no-fuss one that you can addapt to feed a crowd(as i do on a nightly basis!)

  3. Nix the brown sugar- trim that process and use Honey and/or Maple Syrup instead!
     
  4. It is amazing how such simple ingredients make such a FANTASTIC dish!!! My husband absolutely raved over these!!!! I added a good splash of balsamic vinegar to the ketchup and brown sugar, just because I'm a balsamic-aholic, and these were incredible. Will DEFINITELY make these again, and will double the sauce next time!

I live in the San Francisco area and love it here. I discovered Recipezaar (then Food.com..Genius Kitchen) in 2001 and have been so happy to have my favorite recipes stored safely here. I am mother to 7 and grandmother to 7. I love to knit, smock, sew, etc., but my favorite hobby of the moment is traditional rug hooking. This is a sample of what I do.? It's called "November".? I dyed most of the wool myself. It is made from wool flannel, cut into strips a little less than 1/4" and then worked into a linen backing. This is my 3rd rug.
