  1. What an awesome recipe! I used a smokey mesquite Grill Mates spice blend, grinding it up to a powder and adding an extra 1/4 tsp. of popcorn salt. This worked well in my whirley-pop and left a beautiful, even coat of spices over the entire bowl of popcorn. I normally don't care for the "uncooked" taste of spices straight from the bottle, and this recipe really gives a toasted flavor to whatever spices you use. With the huge variety of spice mixes available these days, the possibilities are endless!

  2. This is the first thing I've made in my life using cajun seasoning that I managed to sneak out of the belly of a 5 star hotel's chef here in Muscat. This recipe is indeed quick!(It took just 5 minutes to cook, not 30 minutes!) What an innovative and unique use of cajun seasoning! I was dying to make this since it was posted, but since there wasn't an occasion, I just sat on this recipe for so long. I'm so glad I finally made it today and I'm going to serve it with Heineken beer this evening at a small party at home. I'm half drunk already in my excitement to do so:) Thanks for sharing!

A people's person who never entertains one thing in life -- larger than life EGO of people. My hobbies are numerous and diverse. They range from being an avid reader to decorating home, loving cats, embroidery, painting, writing poems and letters to friends, endless thinking, collecting candles, music, trying various cuisines and reaching out to people. I love cooking and devising ways to smash set patterns of cooking. I do not like over use of spices in the cooking and am dead against using readymade or canned ingredients. Cooking is my favourite prescription for busting all the stress that I accumulate in the work place.
