  • In a large saucepan, combine pears, pomegranate juice, pear nectar, and sugar.
  • Bring to a boil; decrease heat, and simmer 5 minutes or until sugar dissolves and pears are tender.
  • Remove from heat, and stir in grenadine and lemon juice.
  • Cover and chill at least 4 hours or until cold.
  • Remove and reserve pears from pomegranate mixture.
  • Place pomegranate mixture in the container of a 2-quart ice cream freezer; freeze according to the manufacturer's directions.
  • Slice reserved pears, and serve with sorbet.
