  1. Instead of the coleslaw mix, I used 1/2-3/4 lg. head of cabbage, diced baby carrots, 1 heaping T. Tone's Chicken Base, 3 potatoes and 2-14 oz. packages of Kielbasa. My slower cooker was filled to the top with meat and veggies. I still used only 4 c. of broth and it made more juice as it cooked. DELICIOUS! My husband kept on commenting on how good this was!! Thanks for posting!

  2. This was a good base for a soup, but lacked seasoning as a complete dish. I suggest adding a couple cloves of garlic, salt, italian seasoning, Nature's Seasoning, pepper, garlic powder, and celery salt.

  3. Other than not peeling the potatoes and adding ground black pepper I made this recipe as written. The soup was easy to make and had a lot of flavor. Thanks for sharing.

  4. Excellent soup.I used a chicken boullion cube,black pepper,some garlic with parsley.Great flavor!

  5. I make this all the time. But I do add a packet or two of Goya "Sazon". Gives it a great flavor. Love this soup! Easy to make. I us a head of cabbage and 3 carrots. The sazon gives it a great flavor. I also add 2 cloves of garlic and a tad bit of dill. Love it and great for a diet! Louisa

Tweaks

  1. I replaced coleslaw mix with carrots and cabbage and replaced caraway seeds with thyme black pepper and salt. I also added a can of Rotel tomatoes to spice it up.
