This is a very fast recipe to make.
- 1 1⁄2 quarts water
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons salt
- 2 cups instant polenta
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1⁄2 teaspoon pepper
- 1⁄2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1. In a large sausepan, bring water and salt to a boil over high heat. Stir in polenta in a SLOW STEADY STREAM. Lower heat to medium and continue stiring 5 minutes, or until polenta is thickened to the consistency of hot cereal.
- 2. Remove polenta from heat and stir in the butter, pepper and cheese.
Straight-forward, yummy. Had it "soft" with dinner and then fried up the "hard" leftovers with butter for breakfast the next day. Going to make it again for company tomorrow--maybe add in other herbs and feta cheese to mix it up a little. Thanks.
Really reaaly qick and delious. I added chpped broccli to it and yummm.
This is a great side dish, the flavour is not overpowering and the texture is creamy yet gritty. I used this as a base for Recipe #373083 and it worked really well. Thank you Gina's Cucina
