Preparation of Salmon fresh or frozen salmon can be prepared by several cooking methods. One precaution when cooking salmon Do not overcook. Medium-rare is fine.


  1. Cover salmon steaks or fillets with boiling salted water.
  2. Season with 2 slices lemon, 2 slices onion, a sprig of parsley and several peppercorns.
  3. Bring to boil.
  4. Cover, reduced heat to simmer and begin timing.
  5. Allow 10 minutes poaching time per inch of thickness measured at its thickest part or cook until salmon flakes when tested with a fork at thickest part.
