I used Major Grey's mango chutney and enjoyed it with the Cheddar cheese. I put on 7 grain bread for a tasty sandwich! Thanks! Made for the Looney Spoon Phoodies for ZWT#6.

I loved this sandwich. I used wheat bread rolls that I baked and an apple/cranberry chutney that I received as a gift and was waiting to use. This is something that I could eat often. I love the combination of the cheese with the sweet/tart flavor of the chutney. Thanks for sharing the recipe. Made for ZWT6.

A great sandwich with the chutney, cheese and bread. I am going to add pickles next time, and enjoy this immensely. To make the full Ploughman's lunch add the salad tomatoes on the side with some country bloomer bread! :) Made for ZWT 6 Zee Zesties!

Hmmm, who cannot resist a traditional cheese and chutney sarnie, me for one! This was a classic British sarnie and delicious, but NOT a ploughman's lunch, which is chunks of bread usually cottage loaf or farmhouse bread served with pickles such as Branston, pickled onions, assorted British cheeses, butter and sometimes tomatoes on a plate or a large wooden platter.......this could be called a Ploughman's sandwich, but not a lunch! (I hope you don't mind me letting you know!:-) ) A bloomer is a traditional British bread, which I cannot source in France, so I used good old sliced white bread for this! A taste from home for me and very much enjoyed! Thanks, made for the Whine and Cheese Gang and ZWT6 - GB! FT:-) (Photo to be posted)

Yummy. I had forgotten how good the ploughman's lunches were. I didn't have the plum and apple so used Branston pickle which is often part of the cheese and chutney combination. Because the store was out of anything like a chewy white bread i used a mild rye which has lots of flavor and chewiness to approximate it
