People around here don't know what they are. A co-worker brought some in and said "I bet you don't know what these are". Wrong. My grandmother lived in the Little Italy section of town. I got the recipe from her.

This is a good pizzelle recipe. I tried this but had to doctor it a little to my taste. I used more anise - just because I like it that way - I cooked them for about a little less time because I don't like them crispy. I am trying to get them to taste like pizzelle that I buy from a place in Scottsdale called Gina's Homemade. You can see them at http://ginashomemade.com/products.shtml They also make very tasty biscotti that I gave to some friends as gifts. Nice recipe! 5 stars for your pizzelle.

  1. Beat together ingredients beginning with eggs and follow the list.
  2. Refrigerate batter overnight.
  3. Spoon batter in to your iron at the quantity recommended by the manufacturer.
  4. Cook for about 1 minute or until golden brown.
  5. Use the anise oil!
  6. Trust me the anise extract does not work.
