Soooooooooo much tastier than canned pizza sauce.
- 3 garlic cloves
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 796 ml Italian tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon dried basil
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- salt and pepper
- In pot, heat the garlic and oil.
- Mash the tomatoes, by hand, and add them to the oil along with the spices.
- Let simmer for 20 minutes, uncovered.
this is so easy to make and tastes wonderful. I added tomatoe paste for thickness and flavor
This made such a great fresh-tasting pizza sauce! Super-easy to toss together, too. I used this on some French bread pizza with baby pepperoni, mushrooms and onions. This would be a good dipping sauce for mozzarella sticks or toasted ravioli, too. I'll definitely be using this recipe again, thanks for posting! Made for PAC Fall 09
