READY IN: 30mins
Recipe by pixieglenn

This recipe is in response to my son's desperate pleas for those lunchables that are unhealthy, expensive, and full of ingredients I can't Since I refuse to buy them, I came up with this idea instead to compromise with him.

This was a big hit with my 1st and 5th grade kids. I have made lunchable kits before, but not pizza. Thanks for the idea. We added pepperoni, as my kids love that for a snack. I was concerned about a bag of sauce for DS, the first grader. DD suggested mixing the pepperoni, cheese and sauce together in a bag for for her little brother to scoop out with a spoon. Good idea, but she came up with an even better one, so we purchased a travel size squeeze bottle from the health and beauty section (for holding shampoo, etc) and put the pizza sauce in that. But we always have pizza sauce on hand, in the pantry or half a jar in the fridge, so I didn't need to freeze that with the kit. Being able to squeeze out the sauce was easier for my little one in particular. Thanks for a great alternative to PBJ's.

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 453.59 g pizza dough (I use the Pillsbury canisters)
  • 709.77 ml pizza sauce
  • 709.77 ml cheese, shredded
  • 24 snack size ziploc bags
  • 11352.0 ml size ziploc bags

  1. Roll out pizza dough and bake according to directions on the canister.
  2. Put 1/4 cup of cheese in 12 snack size ziploc bags.
  3. Put 1/4 cup of sauce in 12 snack size bags.
  4. When the pizza crust is done cut into 12 squares. (The package says that 1/6 of a package is a serving which is where I am coming up with the serving sizes).
  5. Place two squares in each quart size ziploc.
  6. Add one cheese packet and one sauce packet in the package with the crust.
  7. Freeze.
  8. To eat, have your child put one package in their lunch box and by lunchtime it will the thawed and ready to eat!
