Reviews

 1. Tasted wonderful. I read the reviews of people complaining about the biscuits staying doughy, so I prebaked them for about 10 min, then put the toppings on and baked another 30, turned out perfect. I also added a can of diced tomatoes to the sauce. Will be making this again!

 2. Browning the biscuits is a must After browning and draining the hamburger I added the onions and green peppers cooking them about half way. 2 cups cheese is not enough. Part of my hamburger mix I saved for adding too another pizza. This recipe is a hit and I seldom have leftovers

 3. This was great, Karen. And it was so easy. My family loved it. Thanks for posting.

 4. This is very similar to a TOH recipe, with a some minor differences. Their recipe adds sauteed mushrooms to the toppings and cheese is half cheddar, half mozzarella. I used large biscuits, cut into eighths and they baked perfectly. Layering order is biscuits, ground beef, pepperoni, pizza sauce, green pepper and onion, then cheese. A fun, filling, delicious meal.

 5. I started w/ organic biscuit. My grocer had Annie's. 18-inch Silverstone pizza pan, pre-baked crust 4 minutes at 350. Add mozza and goat cheese, grocer's pizza sauce, onion, zucchini, artichoke, jalapeño, pre-cooked organic ground turkey w/ seasoned salt. Baked 350 for 15 minutes; switched to broil for 10. Fantastic! Best pizza crust I ever ate. My sous-chefery stands me in good company with y'all. Blessings!

Tweaks

 1. OK, I guess I'll be the first one to rain on this happy parade by saying I was not very impressed with this recipe, mainly because the bottom/crust was very doughy. I followed the recipe exactly, except for replacing the ground beef with cooked Italian sausage and cooking the vegetables before hand. I may try this again, perhaps with breadstick dough instead of biscuit dough on the bottom. I guess it just didn't turn out like I had expected.

 2. My family really loved this. So easy and so yummy. I used lean ground beef and turkey pepperoni. Hubby thought this would be great with sausage instead of beef. Next time I will add a little garlic or use homade sauce. Any topping you like on pizza would be great in this cassrole. Thanks Karen.

 3. I omitted the ground beef (my favorite pizza is just cheese), I used a garlic spaghetti sauce instead of pizza sauce, no green peppers, no pepperonis, and I used cheap biscuits. It was alright, but nothing near what I was craving. Even though I didnt use a lot of the ingredients (my personal preference) I would DEFINATELY suggest to get a more expensive biscuit than the cheapest one at the store. I also added minced garlic - bad idea! It was way too garlicy, and for me to say that, it had to be bad!

RECIPE SUBMITTED BY

I live in Pa (outside of Philadelphia) and cooking, baking, cross-stitching and reading are my hobbies.

I collect cookbooks and cookie stamps/cutters and have a pretty big collection of both. I am also a fan of all things Amish, so I have quite a collection of things picked up in Reading, Lancaster and surrounding areas here in Pennsylvania.

I have 4 kids, who are the loves of my life and cooking for them and my husband keeps me on my toes! ;)

We bought an ice cream parlor in March 04 and it's been quite an experience!

Note: I love getting feedback on my recipes; all I ask is that you actually *make* them before reviewing them.

Also, if you make changes or substitutions, I'd love to see your suggestions and/or comments, but I'd appreciate no rating at all if it's not made as posted. Too many recipe reviews state margarine subbed for butter (if I list butter, it's REAL butter), different spices, low-fat ingredients, whole wheat flour instead of white, etc. The recipes will not work/taste as intended, so it's really not fair to rate them as such.

I'd also really appreciate it if you refrain from rating a recipe if you overcook or overbake it or it you don't refrigerate or store as listed.

I, of course, will adhere to the above when rating recipes, too!

Thanks and have a great day!

My Rating System:

***** A delicious recipe that was thoroughly enjoyed. It has excellent, detailed directions and is perfect as is. If a dish is especially easy, and I'm on the fence, I will give it 5* for ease even if it's very good instead of great. Something I will definitely make again.

**** Excellent recipe but confusing directions that I will make again in my own less confusing way OR Very good recipe that I'll probably make again if I find the time!

*** Good/OK recipe but probably not something I would make again OR Very Good recipe that doesn't have clear, detailed directions.

** Recipe was edible but not really enjoyed and will not be made again. Work involved not a good trade-off for the end result.

* Not edible and probably an error in the recipe. I feel that I pick recipes with ingredients our family likes, so in my opinion, there's an error somewhere. If there's a chance I made the error, I won't rate the recipe. ;)
