PITTSBURGH STYLE HAM BBQ SANDWICHES: Great in a crockpot for tailgating, as told in my new cookbook, Pittsburgh Cookbook Tailgate Specials
- 1 lb ham, the thinnest shaved chipped and chopped
- 6 fresh hamburger buns
- 3⁄4 cup Heinz ketchup
- 1⁄4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 1⁄2 cups Coleslaw, your favorite
- First mix your Ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and sugar in a separate cup or bowl to make your BBQ sauce. Rough chop your ham again and put it in a hot skillet to heat. Top ham in the pan with the BBQ sauce you already made and stir. Put ham on buns with ¼ cup of coleslaw on top. Enjoy.
A proper ballgame sandwich declared my DH. The coleslaw on top is what really makes and sets this tasty sandwich apart from all others. I made and tried t as written but then add a bit of smokehouse pepper as a matter of personal taste. Thanks for the post.
WoW, how easy, quick and tasty is this little gem? Very! I quartered the recipe to make one sandwich and left off the coleslaw, because I don't like it. Thanks for sharing Pittsburgh Room. Made for Spring PAC 2012 and Down on the Farm Photo Tag
